The city of Fallbrook is situated in the gently rolling hills of north San Diego County, just 26 miles east of the Pacific coast of California. The local Boy Scout troops are among the best in the nation, producing a higher percentage of young boys who attain the distinguished Eagle Scout level than many areas of the country. Sports are an integral part of life in the Fallbrook area, with organized teams for people of all ages, youth to senior citizens. For the golfing enthusiast, Fallbrook and the surrounding communities offer seven golf courses, several of which offer practice facilities and private lessons. Fallbrook is also home to several equestrian businesses and facilities, including the Vessels Stallion Farm, well-known for its breeding of the most sought-after Thoroughbreds and Quarter Horses in the world.
