The city of San Diego is the region’s economic hub, with nearly 75% of the area’s large employers and six of its major retail centers.  The city’s Department of Economic Development and Community Services seeks to improve employment opportunities, support new ventures, further access to business funds, as well as preserve and enlarge existing San Diego businesses.
